Getting there: You can reach the terminal by car (large paid parking garage on-site) or by train (the Bernese Oberland Railway stops right at the terminal—super easy if you don’t want to drive).
The vibe: Relaxing and scenic. It’s not a rush of adrenaline like the First Flyer—it’s a slow glide where you can point out cows, waterfalls, and mountain peaks to the kids as you climb higher.
At the top: Männlichen is perfect for families—there’s the famous giant cow-themed alpine playground, short kid-friendly walks with sweeping views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, plus restaurants where you can sit on the terrace while the kids play.
Tickets: CHF 32 one-way / 64 return per adult The ride is free if you have the Bernese Oberland Pass or Jungfrau Travel Pass. If you have a Swiss Travel Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card, you’ll get 50% off the gondolas.
Combining rides: Some families do the Eiger Express in the morning to head up toward Jungfraujoch, then ride the Männlichen gondola in the afternoon for the playground and kid-friendly hikes. We decided to do the ziplines at Grindelwald First: Top of Adventure in the morning, and the Mannlichen gondola in the afternoon.
Food & shops: There are cafés, restaurants, and even an outdoor gear store inside the terminal—handy if you need a quick bite or forgot a jacket.
