Fronalpstock Chairlift (Stoos)

From Stoos village, this chairlift carries you up to the Fronalpstock viewpoint—where you’ll find a restaurant, playground, goat petting zoo, a short panorama trail, and the end point of the famous Stoos ridge hike.

• The ride: Each chair seats four people with a safety bar, footrests, and even a clear bubble cover that keeps you warm and protected from the wind. It’s an easy, scenic way to reach the top if you’re not hiking.

• Season & hours: Open May–October, daily from 9:00 to 16:00 (sometimes 17:30). It may close quickly if winds are strong, so always check the status before heading up.

• Getting there: From the Stoos funicular station, it’s about an 8-minute walk through the car-free village to the chairlift. Just follow the signs for Fronalpstock Sesselbahn.

• The chairlift is included in the Stoos Peak Experience ticket (Tageskarte).

• You can also buy single tickets at the funicular or chairlift ticket office.

• Discounts: Swiss Travel Pass, Half Fare Card, and GA.

• Free with the Lucerne Tell Pass.
