If you want a beach holiday but you don't like the touristic scene of the south cost you should visit here. On Sri Lanka's beautiful East Coast, there are few beaches as secluded and unspoilt as the one at Sallitivu. Here you can take in the views of the waves from the verandahs, soak up the sun on the sand, enjoy the refreshing sea breeze, or take a walk out to Sallitivu Island, a small, uninhabited island accessible at low tide – home to native birds and surrounded by a ring of coral reef.
The best time to visit the east coast is April to September. Other months are also ok to visit but the sea may be rough and rain is possible.
DONT expect a tourist infrastructure beside this beautiful guesthouse. You visit here because it does not yet exist ;-)
DO go for a walk to the little island during low tide.
