Photospot

Message from Rach Stewart

Lake Ruataniwha, located in the town of Twizel in the Mackenzie Basin of New Zealand's South Island, offers incredible photo opportunities for keen landscape photographers. The lake is known for its stunning reflections of the surrounding mountains and clear, still turquoise waters, making it a perfect spot for capturing landscape and nature photography.

Recently it has become more famous for amazing transformation when there is a hoar frost in the local area during the winter months. All the trees and surrounding foreground are covered in ice making for a truly beautiful winter scene, especially at Lake Ruataniwha.

This view from the Lake Ruataniwha Holiday Park is beautiful for reflections especially when there is a hoar frost.

Take your wide angle lens with for you this spot.
