Stirling Falls, also known as Waimanu Falls, is a breathtaking waterfall located in New Zealand's Milford Sound.

The most iconic waterfall in Milford Sound, Stirling Falls plunges 155 meters (510 feet) into the dark waters below. Its sheer force and ethereal mist create a truly beautiful opportunity for landscape photography.

Accessible through Milford Sound cruises or scenic flights, this high plunge waterfall is truly one of the most majestic you will find in New Zealand. You will have a good chance at shooting Stirling Falls on one of the cruise boats as they all go right up to the falls as part of the journey. Beware however you will definitely get wet trying to photograph this one, but take your wide angle lens and give it a try anyway.
