This lake is so beautiful! It's one of the best spots we've found for really impressive pictures.

The water turns pink thanks to algae that thrive in the salty water.

The shades of pink change throughout the day and in between seasons, but the best colour shows up between 10am–2pm on clear days.

It’s not great for swimming because the water is so salty, though. But if you want to go in, don't make our mistake and bring some reef shoes, there are salt crystals at the shore that can hurt your feet.

Good to know:

  • Free to visit

  • No facilities, bring snacks, shade, and plenty of water

  • No camping allowed at the lake, but Port Gregory Caravan Park is close
