Coastal scenic drive through Esperance's beaches

This 40km scenic loop is one of the best free things to do in Esperance, and you don’t need a 4WD to do it!

You can complete the entire drive in less than 1 hour, but there are LOTS of things to do: hiking, surfing, snorkelling, and even whale-watching!

That's why we recommend spending at least half a day there, as some iconic stops are:

  • The Rotary Lookout, for a 360° view of Esperance and a short walk to Lover’s Beach

  • Twilight Beach, rated one of the best beaches in the WORLD

  • West Beach and Nine Mile, great for surfing

  • Pink Lake, which isn’t pink anymore, but still good for sunset pics

Good to know:

  • Loop starts near the Cannery Arts Centre

  • All sealed road so any car can do it

  • Most stops have parking and signs, but not always shade

  • Save the Google Maps route ahead of time, reception can be patchy but the route is pretty self explanatory it's just one loop road which ends up back in town!

  • Best done between Dec–May (or June–Oct if you’re here for whale watching)
