Location:

Liffey Falls is located in north-west Tasmania, near the town of Liffey, about 1 hour from Launceston via the C513. Access is via Liffey Falls Road, a well-maintained sealed road that leads directly to the car park and visitor area.

Hike length:

The main walking track is approximately 1.5 km return and takes around 30–45 minutes. There are additional side tracks that allow you to explore multiple viewing platforms and smaller cascades along the Liffey River.

Difficulty Level:

Easy — the paths are well-formed, mostly flat, with boardwalks and steps at key viewpoints. Suitable for families and most visitors.

Dogs allowed:

No — pets are not permitted within the Liffey Falls Reserve.

Liffey Falls is a stunning multi-tiered waterfall surrounded by lush temperate rainforest with moss-covered rocks, tree ferns, and towering eucalyptus. The main fall drops approximately 30 metres in three cascades, creating picturesque scenes, particularly after rainfall. The well-maintained tracks lead to several viewing platforms, offering excellent photography opportunities. Liffey Falls is ideal for a short scenic walk, a family outing, or a nature photography stop, with accessible trails and clear signage throughout the reserve.
