⛱️ Sitges: The Beach Break You Actually Need

Look, I love Barcelona, but sometimes the "beach" there is just construction noise and people trying to sell you warm mojitos. If you want actual vacation vibes—whitewashed buildings, clear water, and cobblestone streets—you get on a train and go to Sitges. It’s like the gay Saint-Tropez of Spain, meaning the food is better, the people are prettier, and the parties are legendary.

How to Get There:

  • Train: Take the R2 Sud line from Passeig de Gràcia or Sants station.

  • Duration: It takes about 35-40 minutes.

  • Cost: Roughly €4.60 each way (or just use a zone 3 ticket if you're confused, but buying a single at the machine is easiest).

  • The Train Hack: Sit on the LEFT side of the train when leaving Barcelona. The tracks hug the cliffside, and you get ocean views the entire way. It is disgustingly beautiful.

Which Beach?

  • For Views & Vibes: Go to Platja de Sant Sebastià. It’s right behind the famous church (the one in all the photos). It has a promenade lined with restaurants where you can drink sangria and judge people walking by. It’s cleaner, cuter, and less chaotic than the main strip.

  • For "Nature": If you’re willing to walk, Platja de Balmins is stunning (heads up: it’s clothing-optional, so don’t be shocked if you see more than just the ocean).
