What to expect:
Hasenplatten is a small alpine stop on the way to Fälensee and one of our favorite breaks during the hike. Surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, it's the perfect place to recharge before continuing towards one of Switzerland's most stunning mountain lakes.
The highlight is the delicious homemade Swiss ice cream, made with fresh Swiss milk. After hiking through the Alpstein mountains, enjoying an ice cream while taking in the panoramic views feels like the perfect reward. For our kids, this was one of the highlights of the entire hike.
Whether you're heading to Fälensee, Fälenalp or Bollenwees, Hasenplatten is well worth a short stop.
How to get here:
Hasenplatten is located along the hiking trail between Sigelalp and Fälensee in the Alpstein region.
Most hikers reach it after taking the cable car from Brülisau to Sigelalp (CHF 18 adults / CHF 9 children one way), followed by an easy walk of around 1 km.
