This hidden forest cabin in Rheinau is one of the most unique stays near Zurich we’ve come across. Nestled directly on the Rhine River in the middle of a protected nature reserve, it offers a true off-grid experience surrounded by nothing but forest, birdsong and water views.

The cabin sleeps up to 4 guests and is perfect if you're looking to disconnect from everyday life and spend quality time in nature. Don’t expect luxury, this place is all about simplicity, peace and a unique location right on the riverbank.

One of the highlights for us was waking up surrounded by nature with the Rhine just steps away from the cabin. The area is ideal for relaxing, reading, kayaking, walking or simply enjoying the quiet.

The cabin is located in Rheinau, in the canton of Zurich.

Around 40 minutes from Zurich by car.

Free parking is available on site.

Notes:

This is an off-grid style stay. The cabin does not have regular power outlets. There are only a charging cable for USB, USB-C and older iPhones.

The cabin is located directly within a nature reserve, making it feel wonderfully remote and secluded.

Bring your own sausage and make yourself a nice BBQ outside.
