Hot Spring

Once you get over the annoying sandflies, Maruia Hot Springs is a sweet spot tucked in the Southern Alps. You can soak in the natural mineral pools, grab some organic grub, and even join wellness classes if you’re feeling zen. The hot pools are open five days a week, but during school holidays, they’re open every day.

There’s a cold plunge pool that’s icy asf but honestly feels amazing after a good soak and great for waking you up and getting the blood pumping.

A 1 hour sauna and bathing pass costs $49. You can also camp there if you want to stay overnight, but it’s pretty pricey compared to other camp spots in the area.
