Might be really crowded during peak seasons. Shinto shrine located in the city of Nara, Japan. According to Shinto beliefs, the deity Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto arrived in Nara on a white deer, symbolizing his divine nature. This mythological event is said to have occurred in the area where Kasuga Taisha was eventually established. The white deer became a sacred messenger of the deity, and as a result, deer were regarded as spiritual animals representing divine presence. The shrine also is a home to hundreds of lanterns made of stone and bronze.
