It is the most low-profile tea shop you will ever encounter. Though it is located on one of the main streets in Arashiyama, all of the tourists miss it, and it is always empty, but it is absolutely amazing! I buy my matcha every two weeks from this shop, and I have never found anywhere a matcha that could be more delicious than this one. The majority of the tea at this shop is from the tea plantation village called Uji (Southern Kyoto).

A perfect place to buy presents to bring back home with you. That is actually what I do - if I know that a person I am meeting loves tea, I always go to this shop.
