Itoh Kyuemon Byodoin is one of the best and most popular tea shops in Uji. It offers a wide variety of green tea products, from tea leaves, mochi, matcha curry (it sounds super weird but I could not resist and got myself a box to try). It's the perfect place to find the perfect souvenir or treat for yourself. Oh, and have you seen that delicious-looking ice cream? I was skeptical at first, thought that it only looks cool, but it turned out really good - approved 👍

I also bought some premium matcha powder (check out the photos). I always buy my matcha from a local tea shop in Arashiyama which is really good and reasonably priced, but this time in Uji I wanted to get the most expensive one (it was 3,240 JPY for 30 g) to see if there would be any difference. To my surprise, it was actually a bit more tasty (that's not to say that my cheaper one is bad or anything). Highly recommend visiting this shop to get something for yourself or as a present for someone back at home.
