Hozen-ji Temple is a small oasis of old Japan in the heart of one of the busiest areas in the whole country, Osaka Namba. Definitely come here to check out the unique statue dedicated to Fudo Myo-o, a Buddhist spirit that represents discipline and firm moral character. The statue is completely covered in moss, as visitors have sprinkled water on it for centuries to pray.

Plus, the atmosphere of the narrow streets surrounding the temple, filled with izakayas and small restaurants, is simply amazing, especially in the evening when all the signs light up.
