Just 20 minutes from Firehole Spring sits our next stop for the night Madison Campground. Nestled near the Madison River, it’s a top pick for campers who want to be surrounded by nature. If you’re into fly fishing, this place is a total hotspot, with anglers dotting the river throughout the day.
From the campground, you’ve got easy access to hiking trails, fishing spots, and plenty of chances to spot wildlife wandering through the area. Its central location also makes it perfect for day trips to Yellowstone icons like Old Faithful and Grand Prismatic Spring.
The campground itself is beautiful shaded by tall trees and super peaceful. There’s even a little store on-site that sells local beers and ciders, which are absolutely worth trying after a day of exploring. Again this campground does not have showers, in the later months like September most campgrounds start to close for the seasons so there are limited options. This site was a total of $43 including taxes.
