About 30 minutes from Madison Campground, you’ll find the trailhead for Grizzly Lake Trail. The hike winds through classic Yellowstone scenery and leads to Grizzly Lake a quiet, tucked-away spot that’s perfect for taking a breather and soaking up the peaceful vibes. The trail is moderately challenging, making it a solid pick for both seasoned hikers and anyone just looking for a relaxed day outdoors.

With a name like “Grizzly Lake,” we half expected (and half feared!) a bear sighting, but luckily, no furry surprises. There’s a small pull out on the left for parking, easy to miss if you’re not watching for it. When we reached the top, we discovered the lake was unfortunately empty but the journey itself still made for a memorable adventure.
