See the rare Fordland crested/Tawhai penguin July-November

Monro Beach is a hidden gem located in the Lake Moeraki area of Westland Tai Poutini National Park in New Zealand. It can be reached by an easy 1hr 20 mins return walk through coastal forest trail and is an absolutely stunning place to visit! Here, visitors can enjoy beautiful views of white sand, endless waters, and lush greenery, while also having a chance to spot rare Fiordland Crested Penguins. This secluded beach is the perfect escape - and make sure to come prepared with sun protection, insect repellent, and warm clothing as the weather can change rapidly. Definitely a must-visit when exploring the natural wonders of New Zealand!
