The Rakaia Gorge Walkway is a spectacular adventure awaiting outdoor lovers in the Canterbury region of New Zealand. Winding through the gorgeous and varied terrain, hikers can enjoy diverse forests, shrubs and geological features like lava flows of rhyolite, pitchstone and andesite. Along the way there are historic sites to explore, such as coal miner tunnels, and plenty of lookout points that offer stunning views of the gorge below. For a truly memorable experience, the loop return track allows for time to take in the scenery and admire nature at its best.
