This lake literally disappears during summer seasons! We couldn’t find a way to get down to the bottom of the lake so stopped on the road to take pictures. Not far from Bridal veils if you want to have a peek.

Further information: Lake Disappear, located near the hills of Raglan in New Zealand, is a 1.5-km long intermittently disappearing lake that has made it famous in the geological community. It's located inside a large and flat plain at the bottom of a valley, surrounded by limestone also known as 'polje'. The basin was created millions of years ago from an ancient lava flow that helped to dam up the valley and create a stream that passes through underground limestone and reappears on the land nearby the sea. When too much rain fills up in the valley, the stream overflows and the Lake will appear with depths reaching up to 15m! It will sometimes slowly dry off in periods of no rain and it looks like the lake recovers when winter arrives - it's nature’s own game of hide-and-seek.
