The Paekakariki to Pukerua Bay Escarpment Track is a 9.1 km single track walk that offers spectacular views over the Kāpiti Coastline and Kapiti Island. Taking a half day to complete (4ish hours), it is an intermediate tramping track that features 1,200 steep steps as well as narrow pathways across ridgelines and two swing bridges. This adventure is particularly not recommended for people with vertigo, as climbing to a peak of 217 m above sea level takes quite a bit of strenuous hiking.
