Shine Falls, located in the Hastings District of Hawkes Bay, is currently closed for visitors - but its stunning beauty makes it well worth the adventure to get there. Rising 58 metres, Shine Falls is Hawke's Bay's most spectacular waterfall. To enjoy this natural wonder, the journey from Napier takes around one and a half hours of driving - the last 12km of which are over gravel roads. The track is also a challenging 1.5 hour round trip full of uphill sections and stream crossings, yet all are bridged and easy to navigate. As you pass through the farmland and under giant sandstone bluffs, you'll see low-land forest with trees like kanuka, kawakawa, kowhai and titoki. It's an unforgettable destination and perfect for outdoors enthusiasts or those just looking to have an escape to nature.
