One of the most beautiful waterfall walks in the South Island and an absolute highlight of any Catlins road trip. The walk winds through ancient podocarp forest along the Tautuku River — moss-covered branches, towering tree ferns, and the sound of water building as you get closer. The multi-tiered falls at the end are genuinely stunning and well worth the effort.

About 40 minutes return, with some steps and a slightly uphill section toward the end. Sturdy footwear recommended as it can get muddy and slippery near the falls.
