The Maramataha Bridge is one of New Zealand's highest and longest suspension bridges, located between Waitomo and Taumaranui in the Pureora Forest off SH30. The bridge is 141m long and 53m high, making it the longest and highest bridge along the Timber Trail. Walking or cycling the well-maintained trail to the bridge is enchanting — passing through spectacular forest filled with giant ferns and mossy branches. As a feat of engineering, the bridge is also a lot of fun, swaying as you walk across it while giving incredible views of the surrounding forest. Those looking for an exciting adventure are sure not to be disappointed by this impressive attraction.
