3 hour return hike to the top of Mount Tauhara.

Further Information: Mount Tauhara is a dormant volcano located on North Island in New Zealand. It stands at an elevation of 1,088 metres (3,570 ft) above sea level and offers impressive views of the Volcanic Plateau, including Lake Taupō from the top. A steep walking track will lead you to the summit, however be prepared for a somewhat strenuous hike as it takes about an hour and a half each way. For those looking to make a stop along the way, there’s a pristine spring near the top perfect for taking a refreshing sip of water. To top it all off, its Banshee-like appearance enveloped with native bush adds an otherworldly beauty to the scenery. Whether it’s simply visiting or tracking through, Mount Tauhara is a must-go destination for adventurers and explorers alike!
