🏖️ Mermaid Pool Adventure! 🧜‍♀️

We haven’t visited yet, but we’ve been very eager to check out this hidden gem! After some serious Google sleuthing, we found an old blog that confirmed the track to the Mermaid Pool is at the bottom of Sugarloaf Road. 📍

✨ Directions:

• Park on a dirt road in a campground.

• Follow the locally marked path to the beach.

• Once you reach the beach, head right around the rocks to the farthest pool on the right.

• Look for the iconic island in the background of photos and a rockpool!

💡 Important Reminder:

• No Sunscreen or Lotions: The Mermaid Pool is a delicate ecosystem, so please swim without sunscreen or lotions on your skin.

• Leave No Trace: Enjoy the beauty but remember to clean up after yourself. There’s been a lot of litter and human waste at similar spots like Matapouri pools, so let’s all do our part!
