This has to be hands down one of our favourite UK travel experiences!

For this reason we have taken a number of trips with the team here. The first saw us exploring the untamed salt marshes off the North Norfolk coast in beautifully restored old mussel boats. This area of marshland, once frequented by smugglers is known as one of the UK's last true wildernesses and is teaming with wildlife. It's completely inaccessible unless travelling by small boat and even then you have to know the area very well to understand the ever-changing water channels and how to avoid getting stranded. The feeling of sailing down the small estuaries on a crisp January morning with not another person in sight was quite special, only made even better by Henry and his team who are not only incredibly knowledgeable but also great fun, adding to the enjoyment of the experience.

On another trip we came out in Summer and took one of their larger sailing boats to Scolt Head island. We spent the day exploring the island and coast line, swimming in the sea and enjoying a feast of locally sourced produce.

Although it's on the more expensive side, we couldn't recommend the Coastal Exploration Company enough. Whichever adventure you choose, we have no doubt it is an experience that will stay with you long after it has finished.

Who: Perfect for families, friends, couples or even a solo trip.

Where: Most adventures start and finish in the town of Wells-Next-The-Sea
