Emerald Lake in British Columbia’s Yoho National Park is a stunning natural haven of beauty and serenity. It's the largest lake in Yoho, surrounded by the President Range mountains and is awash with glacial melt water that gives it a bright teal hue. Visitors to Emerald Lake can enjoy leisurely hikes around its 5.2 kilometer perimeter, or take a peaceful canoe across the surface of the lake. The lake holds a small micro-climate more indicative of a rainforest found on the coast and is home to a range of wildlife including marmots, bald eagles, bears, loons and moose. It's truly magnificent especially at sunrise and sunset and can be accessed year round. There are a plethora of activities to enjoy and the lake is just 20 minutes from the famous Lake Louise.
