Lightning Lake Campground – E.C. Manning Provincial Park, BC

Lightning Lake Campground is a spacious, forested drive-in site nestled on the shores of stunning Lightning Lake. It’s ideal for families, anglers, paddlers, and anyone wanting a wilderness escape with lake‑side comfort. 📸 The serene beach and reflective waters offer perfect sunrise and dusk photo moments.

Sites & Access

  • 143 reservable sites (100% reservable; no first-come spots)

  • Drive-in access via Gibson Pass Road, ~6 km from Hwy 3

  • Suitable for tents, trailers, and self‑contained RVs (up to 50 ft)

Facilities

  • Flush toilets, washrooms with hot showers, potable water taps

  • Picnic tables, fire rings, playground, boat launch, and day-use areas

  • Off-season winter-only vehicle-access camping (no tents allowed)

Fees & Season

  • $35 / night + $12 for second vehicle in summer (mid-June to mid-October)

  • Winters allow vehicle camping only ($13/ night for self-contained vehicles)

  • Reserve through BC Parks – Lightning Lake campground (up to 120 days in advance)

Activities & Trails

  • Flat 9 km Lightning Lake Loop trail around the lake

  • Canoe, kayak, or paddleboard rentals available

  • Popular hike option: Thunder Lake via Lightning Lakes Chain (~12 km return)

Seasonal Notes

  • Open: mid‑June to mid‑October for tent camping

  • Year‑round access for self‑contained vehicles in winter

  • Mosquito peaks late summer; spring and fall offer serene conditions

  • Evenings host interpretive programs and lantern events at the amphitheatre
