Historic lighthouse on scenic island

The Griffiths Island Lighthouse in Port Fairy has been guiding ships since 1859, standing tall on the scenic island just a short walk away from historic Port Fairy.

Built by Scottish stonemasons out of bluestone, this lighthouse has a unique stairway cut into the stone walls and while the tower itself is not open to the public, visitors can enjoy the picturesque walk across the island to soak in the lighthouse's charm and maritime heritage.

You can head straight to the lighthouse via a 25 minute walk or do the full hour circuit that takes you around the island, along the rocky coastline, past the lighthouse and back to the car park.
