Kusawa Lake Campground is located in the Champagne and Aishihik area of the Yukon, accessible from the Alaska Highway. It is a popular spot for kayakers, canoeists, boaters, and anglers. The lake itself is narrow, so caution should be taken with high winds and waves; the surrounding road can also be muddy after rain and pitted in sandy sections. There are many activities to partake in while visiting Kusawa Lake Campground, including fishing, hiking the nearby mountains, spotting Dall Sheep, and more. Additionally, there are equal elements on-site such as outhouses, bearproof garbage bins, picnic tables, cook shelters, fire rings, boat launches, docks, and wheelchair-accessible facilities. Whether you’re looking for adventure on the lake or the trail, Kusawa Lake has something special to offer.

Eryn's Tips:

• Kusawa is an amazing campground, but being less than 2 hours from Whitehorse, it can be BUSY. I'd recommend getting there early on a weekend or on a weekday to ensure you get a space!

• There are technically 2 campgrounds, one on the river and one on the lake, so don't stop at the first one you see if you want to be at the lake!

• There are amazing hikes you can find on Yukon Hiking right next to the campground, and the views are AMAZING!

• This is one of my favourite campgrounds if I am looking to get away from town for a few days, but don't want to have to drive super far.
