Make a pit stop at this shipwreck. Built in 1912, it was originally a Norwegian whaling vessel with reenforced hull to break through ice. It was bought to Iceland after the World War 2 and converted into a herring fishing ship. It served as such until 1981 when her time was up and was run aground into a shallow beach in Skápadalur valley. Now a popular landmark for travellers who enjoy photographing this bizzare rusty object in an otherwise pristine fjord environment.

You can climb up and explore the inside if you are brave enough!
