❄️ Known for: 1980 Winter Olympics, mountain town vibes, lakeside strolls
🚶 Best for: Easy walking, history, relaxing break between hikes

Lake Placid is a charming small town nestled in the Adirondacks, and it makes a great stop to slow down between outdoor adventures. Famous for hosting the 1980 Winter Olympics, you can still visit some of the original venues, like the ice rink and Olympic facilities, which gives the town a strong historical feel. The village itself is clean, cozy, and pleasant to walk around, especially along the lake, with beautiful views and well-kept streets. I loved strolling through town, admiring the classic architecture of the surrounding houses and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.
