Schoen Lake is the only frontcountry provincial park campground between Campbell River and Port Hardy, though the access is on an unpaved road. Firmly away from the beaten path, the campground has very few facilities and the road is narrow and bumpy at times.

There are 9 campsites set in an old-growth tree grove, with some enjoying lake views across to 1,802m high Mount Schoen. The fee is $11/night/group.

The campground gate is locked from 1st November to 1st April each year. No reservation system.
