Authentic working village on Johnstone Strait

Consider taking a detour to Sayward, a small village located between the ocean and rugged forest. Despite its small population of around 350 people, Sayward is surprisingly busy!

Johnstone Strait sees plenty of marine traffic, and the waterfront area is bustling with brightly colored boom boats navigating the log sorting area.

For a quick visit, the Salmon River Estuary Walk (1.3km return) is a great option. It offers beautiful viewpoints of the water and surrounding mountains.
