Yosemite Valley is a stunning gem nestled in Yosemite National Park, known for its breathtaking landscapes and iconic landmarks like Yosemite Falls, El Capitan, and Half Dome. There are parking lots in the valley, but you won't be able to really drive from site to site. Once you park, you can take the shuttle, walk, or bike ride to different spots throughout the valley. After doing all of those options, biking is 100% the way to go.
You can bring bikes from home or rent them in the valley! There are three rental spots: Yosemite Valley at Curry Village, Yosemite Village, and Yosemite Valley Lodge. In my experience, the best place for bike trailer rentals is at the Yosemite Valley Lodge. While there are plenty of bikes, there are limited trailers so arrive early if you want to secure one of these! The rentals typically open at 8:00 am and we got the last trailer for the day by 8:30 am on our last trip. There is a parking lot at the Yosemite Valley Lodge that allows easy access to the bike rentals.
My recommended route:
Rent bikes at Yosemite Valley Lodge
Stop 1: Lower Yosemite Falls
Stop 2: Mirror Lake
Stop 3: Vernal Falls Hike (cut if not wanting to hike)
Stop 4: Stoneman Meadow Boardwalk (Half Dome View)
Stop 5: Cook's Meadow Loop & Sentinel Bridge (Half Dome & Yosemite Falls View)
Stop 6: Yosemite Valley Chapel
Stop 7: Swinging Bridge Picnic Area for water play
Return bikes to Yosemite Valley Lodge
