Harry Potter Ultimate England Roadtrip

Day 1:

This is your London day and it is jam packed! You may actually want this to be day 2 of your vacay if you'd like time to recover from jetlag. Feel free to take 2 days in London if you'd like more time to see other non-Harry Potter related things.

I recommended a wizard hotel stay at the bottom of today's itinerary to keep with the theme, but feel free to stay anywhere in central London, or even near King's Cross to be closest to your first activity of the day. You'll start at Platform 9 3/4 and experience a mix of photo ops, afternoon tea, filming sites, activities, and more.

Filming Sites + Shopping

Wizard Afternoon Tea

After viewing Platform 9 3/4 you might already be hungry! I've included an afternoon tea option right next door, but be sure to book in advance. They're only open for tea certain days, so check the website for current time. If they're not running tea on the day you'll be there, not to worry! I've included another afternoon tea option later in the itinerary.

Iconic London Stop

St. Paul's Cathedral is a must see for anyone in London! It's a great addition to today to combine a Harry Potter filming site with a classic London icon.

To see the Harry Potter staircase, be sure to book the Public Trioforum Tour on their website in advance.

At the time of creating this guide, the Trioforum tour starts at noon, so be sure to plan accordingly!

Self-Guided Walking Tour

You'll continue your day with a self-guided walking tour, passing by filming sites on this side of London.

Head back towards Covent Garden- either walk or take the tube for more sights and activities! If you're hungry you can also grab food - I'd recommend Borough Market (though it's not open on Mondays) before leaving this area.

Afternoon

You have some options for the second half of the day!

Option 1: The Theater

Get tickets for Harry Potter and the Cursed child. You will book two tickets as it is a two part show that takes about 5.5 hrs total. Don't worry, there is an intermission in the first half, a long break to leave and get dinner, then the second show! There's plenty of magic in the show but it's not something I would do with kids under 10.

Option 2: Continue with Walking Tour, Shopping, and Activities

You can end your day here and head back to the hotel, or checkout nearby London icons. Get ready for day 2!
