Middleton Beach is the easiest beach to get to from town. It’s a great pick for families or if you’re just after a relaxed arvo by the water without going too far.

Things to do there:

• Swim in the calm and protected bay

• Fish off the jetty

• Windsurf, kayak, or paddleboard

• Go for a walk or cycle on the coastal path

• Birdwatching and sunset watching

• Picnic or BBQ by the grassy area

• Playground for the kids

• Snorkelling and even surfing when there’s swell

Good to know:

• Just a few minutes from Albany town proper

• Toilets, BBQs, picnic spots, and a playground on site

• Usually calmer in the mornings before the sea breeze picks up

• Shops and cafes nearby

• Flat and accessible, good for wheelchairs and prams
