Carnarvon’s not flashy, but it’s a handy spot to pause before heading up to Coral Bay or Exmouth.

We always fill up here (cheaper fuel than up the coast) and grab some local fruit and veg straight from the farm stalls.

Know before going:

  • Cactus Garden is a popular photography stop

  • Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum

  • Morels Orchard, Bumbaks and the farmers markets for fresh fruit and icypoles

  • Try the chocolate covered frozen bananas/mangoes

  • Not much in the way of beaches

  • One Mile Jetty

  • Stock up here if you're heading into more remote spots

  • Summer gets brutally hot, best as a quick stop in shoulder season

  • Markets and produce stands are seasonal (mainly May–Oct)
