The most ironic name for this anything-but-miserable beach!

The reason for it's name is from Albanys previous whaling history this beach was close to where the hunting would go on. However, today this place is peaceful and beautiful.

It's inside Torndirrup National Park, which has an entry fee.

That's why we recommend combining this beach with a visit to The Gap, Natural Bridge, and Stony Hill for the best bang for your buck.

You can also consider doing the Bald Head trail too.

Things to do there:

  • Swim, it's a protected bay with super clear water

  • Snorkel, there's plenty to see underwater!

  • Excellent fishing

  • Surfing when the swell is right

Good to know:

  • Entry fee to the park: $17 per vehicle (at time of writing)

  • No facilities, bring what you need

  • Small carpark, fills up quickly in peak season

  • Water clarity is best when the swell is low
