This is one of the easiest spots to enjoy without overthinking it.

You can walk straight there from town, go for a swim, throw a line, or even head out in your 4WD for a beach drive.

What we liked:

• Walkable from town, no real planning needed

• Calm water for swimming and paddling

• 4WD access and nearby dunes for a bit of fun

• Good beach fishing

Good to know:

• Paperbark Park next door has BBQs, toilets and outdoor showers

• Designated off-lead dog area on the north side of the sandbar

• Gets busy in summer, but there’s plenty of beach to share
