Derby’s where the Gibb kicks off (or finishes), and it’s a handy place to get sorted before heading in or out.

There’s not heaps to do, but it’s got fuel, food, a decent bakery, and one of the biggest tidal ranges in Australia!

The jetty is a good spot for sunset, and the Boab Prison Tree is worth a quick look if you haven’t seen it before.

It’s not a place you need to spend days in, but it does the job, especially if you need a restock or a proper shower after coming off the track.
