One of the most iconic hikes in Kalbarri, The Loop starts at the famous Nature’s Window and takes you on a 9km circuit down the Murchison River.

You can take a dip into the river if you're keen, before making your way back up. It's a bit rough but 100% worth it!

There's little shade and it gets very hot, so you MUST start early. In fact the hike is closed after 7am from November to March due to extreme heat.

About the hike:

• Class 4 hike, 9km loop

• Takes 3–5 hours depending on pace

• Begins and ends at Nature’s Window

• Rocky sections, sandy patches, steep climbs

Know before going:

• Limited shade, wear a hat, sunscreen, and bring 3–4L of water per person

• Best done in cooler months (May to Sept) or early mornings

• Kalbarri NP entry fee applies

• No dogs allowed, and no caravans or trailers past the entry point, so unhitch at the designated bay before entering
