This is a top spot, especially if you want to be right on the water and surrounded by bush.

It's located inside the national park, so you get that proper nature feel, but with all the comforts of a good holiday park.

Why it's worth checking out:

  • Epic location right next to the inlet for swimming, kayaking, or fishing if you're keen.

  • Regular powered/unpowered sites.

  • Self-contained chalets and even glamping tents if you want something a bit more comfortable.

  • Heaps of facilities, including a great camp kitchen with a fireplace, a playground for the kids, and a games room.

Know before going:

  • Being in a national park, it’s strictly no pets allowed.

  • It’s one of the most popular places to stay in the area so book in advance.

  • There's a small shop on-site for basics like ice and milk, but you'll want to do your main shop in Walpole town.
