Roebuck Bay is a huge tidal mudflat right by Broome, best known for world-class shorebird watching and some people watch the Staircase to the Moon spectacle, so plan visits around tide times and moon calendars.

Beware of crocodiles. The dry season (May to October) gives the best access.

Heed local signs about crocodiles and stingers and do not swim in the bay.
