Waterfall

One of our favourite spots in Karijini, Joffre is a natural amphitheatre carved into the rock with a waterfall that flows in the right season.

Now the hike in is deceptively easy up until the rim of the gorge. The actual hike down to the gorge is pretty much vertical, you'll have to scramble over steep rock faces to get in.

But all the scrambling is 100% worth it! Definitely head there if you're confident in your abilities.

Why it's worth checking out:

  • Swim in the bottom pool

  • Walk around the top rim for epic views

  • See the waterfall in the wet season (April-May)

  • Swim/float to a rock island at the end of the gorge (~250m)

Know before going:

  • If you want to go to the rock island, we recommend bringing a floatie. These waters are not as buoyant as saltwater so you might get tired faster

  • 2WD accessible

  • Best in the morning for light and fewer crowds

  • National park entry fee applies
