Despite the name, Pink Lake hasn’t been pink for years, so don't expect bright bubblegum colours.

Yet, it’s still an interesting spot to visit if you're nearby, especially to stretch your legs or snap a quick photo!

Plus, it's one of the final stops in Esperance's Great Ocean Drive, so you'll go through there anyway.

Things to do there:

  • Stop for a quick look or walk

  • Read the signs about the lake’s history

  • Good spot for birdwatching in the right season

Know before going:

  • Part of the Great Ocean Drive, so no need to make a detour to go

  • The pink colour faded due to changes in salt and water levels

  • Easily accessed by car, only a few mins from town
