Exmouth is the main gateway to Ningaloo Reef, with world-class snorkelling, famous beaches like Turquoise Bay, and the chance to swim with whale sharks if you’re there in season (Mar-August)-

It’s worth at least 4–5 days, minimum. We spent two months there and, honestly, we could’ve stayed longer.

There are heaps of things to do:

  • Snorkel straight off the beach in places like Turquoise Bay, Lakeside Beach, and Oyster Stacks

  • Swim with whale sharks, manta rays and humpback whales

  • See the turtles nesting and hatching (Nov-Feb)

  • Visit the Mildura Wreck, Vlamingh Head Lighthouse

  • 4WD driving in Cape Range National Park

Here's our full guide to Exmouth!
