This is Augusta's main marine facility, a busy spot for local fishing boats, people launching their own tinnies, and the whale-watching tours when in season.

Things to do there:

• Launch your own boat from the public ramps

• Solid fishing spot (squid, herring, salmon)

• It’s the departure point for whale-watching tours (late May to late August)

Know before going:

• There are good public toilets and heaps of parking for cars and trailers

• It gets very windy on the breakwater, so a jacket is a good idea
